Thanks, sweetwoodjax, but if you had gone up against me, I'm sure you would have done very well.:)
I appreciate your very kind comments.

Exceptional take on the 1-9-1 entry prompt on a spiritual poem. as always you take it beyond the easily seen and force the reader here to look not at the reward but the punishment of transgression. Congratulations on your ribbon!

So THIS is how you do a 1-9-1! I thought about entering, and even wrote a poem, but thought I probably didn't do it right, so I abstained. Your poem is powerful, and certainly well phrased. The picture is scary. You seem to know where to find the scariest ones. Congratulations on the first place win. You deserve it.

I like how you summon that up. Well written
as a thousand words, in a nutshell. Your poetic
alliteration was there. Keep writing.

You wrote a poem that meets the requirements of the prompt and provides a good message in just a few words and syllables. Love the word "conflagrant." Well done! Good luck in the contest. Sue

Thanks very much, Sue, I really appreciate the complimentary comments. I initially had blazing, but wanted to cut the word count down somewhat. Conflagrant seemed to fit nicely.:)

Wow! This is very scary and powerful stuff. Definately demands attention to a serious subject. Makes a big impact along with the frightening picture.

Thanks, jandeck, and I was worried initially that the picture might be a bit too graphic. But, given the nature of the topic, I felt it was appropriate, and posted it regardless. I'm very glad it made a lasting impression on you, and I appreciate your thoughtful review.:)

Thanks very much, Lois, and you're absolutely right. It is very sad because it is so true. It's so easy to avoid this fate, yet so many fight it, for one reason or another.
Thanks for he thoughtful and encouraging comments and review. They are sincerely appreciated.:)

What a horrorfying image. They need to show this picture in elementary school as a teacher's aid to discourage students from following Lucifer's demonic ways. That image would deter me to go straight. Burning in Hades for eternity is no joke. And they thought earth was hell! About spooked me into oblivion. This is a powerful message sent to those thinking of commiting any crimes against humanity. One helluva 1/9/1, son of-a-gun. Count your doubloon. SPOOK-A-DOO, WACKYDO, DO LOCO, WE ARE Legion...
