Hi Mary,
I waited intentional to review this as I could not justify leaving five star platitudes for such a wonderful gem of a poem.
The artwork alone was worth a six... this my dear friend is what I'd call a complete work of artistry, in visual and in words... all the very best for this contest... this indeed is a very worthy entry with such a rich sense grateful awe.

This is a wonderful tribute to the miracle of nature in motion. Your descriptive verse builds a wonderful setting in the mind of the reader, but your picture enhances the feel of the piece. I really liked the closing quatrain, as well. Best wishes for your entry...warmest regards, Bill

I am amazed that you were able to achieve such a good photo of your artwork through the glass--it just proves you can keep great art from surfacing! Your painting makes a wonderful companion to your rhymed couplets in these quatrains. You captured the "rapture" and the "cosmic glory" vividly. Hugs and peaceful weekend- Joan

Four lovely stanzas in rhyming couplets describing the beauty of the seasons - Maytime and the roses, then through to Autumn and falling leaves. Lovely. I like the use of metaphor in late May awakening the roses. Good luck in the contest.
