I didn't see this when it was first posted. What a great piece of poetry and I love seeing a humorous poem in staid quatrain form. How long did it take for you to write this? So many verses. I am pretty good with the short poetic forms but lose my way in the long forms. Very enjoyable!

I can readily see why this won first place in the quatrain contest. This is hilarious, extremely clever and so delightfully smooth. It is fun to read, as the creative rhymes and perfect meter, internal rhyme and all the rest of it make a story lover's dream poem. I was a little uncertain whether humour would fare well in this contest, but the judges awarded both first and second to funny poems, so I should obviously give up on predicting and just concentrate on writing!

Loved your inventive rhymes -
flu, ague and you.
diarrhoea and gonorrhoea (eeewwww)
apprehension, apprehension - and so many more. :o)

Lots of fun in this one. I like to stay away from doctors and this poem gives me the feeling that I'm perfectly justified.
