I can not think of a better way to be a prisoner. I was one for thirty years to a pair of blue eyes. I did not even know what he looked like at first. We were pen pals at first. He could have looked like the hunch back of Norte Dame and he would have still looked beautiful to me. Great work. Good luck with the contest.

Out of the frying pan and into the fire, eh?
I liked your slant on the topic and the unexpected optimistic twist.
Nice story and nice ending.
GL in the comp :)

I have to say. I know what you mean. I think many of have been there once or twice in our lives when a pair of eyes or should I say what shined behind those eyes touched something deep within us and held tight.
Well done.

A love story, how different, what a great play on the 'prisoner writing prompt'. Beautiful read. Scary eyes, but it gives the feeling of being drawn in. Best of luck in the contest.

Thank you so much! I am happy you liked this and feel I did the contest justice with a different spin on being a prisoner.

This is a really rad short story. I have tried writing stories this short, so believe me, I know it is not as easy as it looks to write a complete story in so little words.
Well done.
