Glad I read your author notes. It does look like a snowy pterydactal. Nothing wrong in letting your imagination run away. Good, frigid free verse.

Thank you ravenblack. Like the alliteration - frigid free verse. Very cool.
Comment from Roxanna Andrews
It does look like a bird or maybe since I'm in FL it looks kind of like an alligator. =} As always very well done and a fun read, though I doubt anyone who has to repair a roof or just get the snow off would think it fun at all. Rox

Thank you Rox, that actually is my roof. Yes it is very alligator like. I see that too.

No I think maybe your creative side has just had a growth spurt. Lol.
Very creative and good use of imagination and description to tell a fine tale.
It's a little hard for me to imagine this scene for I have never seen or experienced snow.
I'm swelting under an Aussie summer.

You have a vivid imagination, but I do see the monster--what long teeth he has! Your free verse certainly is a fine example of an "animated still". Enjoy the remaining hours of this special day- Joan

i believe my imagination has run away with with these sharp icy teeth. Except in my case I don't want the teeth to bite my head off. Well done.

There are plenty of ice monsters at my house. I enjoy your poems because they are often of nature, and your setting is similar to mine. Your subject matter resonates with me! You have a good imagination. Something I admire. Merry Christmas, Tom.

Your imagination may have run amuck, but all in all I can see where you COULD come up with this. Except for the small remorseless eyes. Where did you find them? HMMM?
