You haven't gone yet so I'm assuming this was written years ago when you were in your dark hours. The poem is well written ...a nice background color enhances the pictures ...and you are adorable. Good job my friend,

Norm, as all children who are privileged to 'grow up' so to speak, are exposed to the world and the 'blackness' therein, we all wonder why at times. We can't go back to the child, but, we can become childlike in our awareness, forgiveness and acceptance of ourselves. As usual, your poem is thought provoking and very well written. Carolyn

A baby's eyes
I have seen
Mellow like the sea
Sparkling like the sun
Filled with hope

Smiling hauntingly
Shining golden with warmth
Gleaming wonders
Of futures without bounds
Future expectation

It was inspiration
On the face
Of an angel
A mirrored reflection
Of cooed delights
And shining smiles
Definitely a beautiful angel

It was me
Before eternity
Blackened my Soul
And made me
Wonder
Why
the innocence of our inner child. Seeing yourself through the eyes of the children.

Why only 4 stars if you liked the poem? It has received 6 stars from another. I believe it is worthy of 5 stars. Can you reconsider?

Outstanding! Your title is so very apropo. I saw only the beauty of a little child as I read through your poem and was starting to wonder why the title "Doubt". Your final verse is striking and your insight to your life and what you apparently perceive as failures or mistakes, announces to the world that you recognize changes need to be made in your life to regain the innocence and purity of childhood.
Well written and very effective! An enlightening read!
