good touches of alliteration in well for a while and in sun starts
excellent use of imagery to show how the breaking of trust is like the dark covering the sunshine - this will resonate with many readers who have also had to recover from love's betrayal :-) Brooke

Stupid Fanstory rules... Can't give you another six until next month!!!:-(

This was SO deserving of one. I really felt all the disappointment at the words she wanted to believe as true. This is a voice for most people, they trust and then get let down and this makes them out up a guar until somebody else knocks it down and the cycle starts all again. And we just want to believe again because its what we want, so we say: last time... Every time... We want happiness so much that we lose sight of what it really means and what will make us happy. A promise only means something if it is kept and a lie is only worth it if the truth comes out at the end. Loved how you described the wall being put back up to guard our hearts forever.

You fall for charm and
empty words
You want to believe
are true
- favourite wording, so strong, sums it all up:-)

Excellent work, a poem written with feeling and truth- really really enjoyed!!:D

Hi Jaq, another very emotive write that no doubt will resonate with many. Being let down by someone you have given yourself to is difficult but doesn't in any way make you the lesser. An attitude of 'their loss' may be helpful!!
Your personal worth and self-love is the most important issue and ultimately will lead to the result you're seeking.

Yep. You certainly nailed the issue. Been there. Know the feeling... Sympathize. I find your poem very truthful... Certainly ticks with me. I just find the last stanza would need working on again as the words convey the idea well but it doesn't quite flow as well as the rest of your work.
