This concise poem is very powerful in its theme. Yes, only through our OWN taking of chances can we gain wisdom. When we read the history books, etc., we mostly gain knowledge--not real wisdom. Very good

I know the format of your senryu; but traditionally they are a 5-7-5 verse format. You have a 7-7-8. Not normally accepted in this format. However I personally liked it.
