I'll also take two and I LOVE this. It's so catchy with words to live by, I know I could live by them and right on time since summer is ending very soon. One of my favorites of the day.

An impressively beautiful Quatern... or poem... as I would have called it before reading author's notes.

But all in all a piece that touched me with it's rhythmic quality and repeating message. I am struck by the resonance of it and actually read it three times grasping at it's theme since in Interior Alaska big daddy winter will soon be here...

Congratulations... very, very good

So keep me in mind my dear when Daddy Winter descends! I've always wanted to go to Alaska - IN THE SUMMER!! :) Thank you so much for enjoying my poem and giving a magic '6'!
    Best wishes

Hi Sharyn,

Congratulations! Easy to see why this was the winner of the quatern contest. It's light and bouncy, and it has a good message along with great form.

I'd take no summer and no winter. Give me the forever spring and fall and I'd be happy. I hate the high heat, and the freezing cold. Give me spring and fall. Well done.

Really enjoyed this form of poetry. The title immediately caught my interest and the style and that specific line was nice to read over and over. Timely and very well done. Fun to read.

You did a great job with this, Sharyn. Congratulations on your win! Your repeating line brings a smile. I'm not nearly the fan of hot, humid weather that the poet must be. I'm ready for a little cool and crisp. :) nancy

I like the idea of outrunning the passage of the season. It's cute and whimsical, and fun. I can see why this poem won the contest. Great job.

I don't know about quaterns or any other for of poetry. But I know what I like when I read poetry and I like this one. I as well dislike the end of summer. We're closing the pool today so to me that signifies closure. Oh well. Great poem. I like your fourth stanza of going south and out-run the sun. Yea, I like it. Excellent. John

Unfortunately, not Hawaii. I live in NJ, but am leaving for a week in Florida to see my kids and granddaughter. No use keeping it up and running. Anyway, weathers changing.

Very nicely done! I'm not a fan of sun and surf and summer... too hot for me. But I appreciate your love of it. I'll take 3 springs and 2 falls instead. :)
