A bit long but it was worth the time spent upon reading. The poem fits the season of Thanksgiving perfectly. For anyone that read this poem they would remember to be thankful for the things that they recieve.

You've written a poem with such a powerful message of what we need to be thankful for. Sometimes we don't remember the things that we should be thankful for instead we grumble about what we don't have. You have captured the true meaning of Thanksgiving in this poem. Your poem flowed smoothly with very good rhythm.

I am a survivor not a victim.
I am thankful for all that life
has brought me through.
I am thankful to God who cares
for me beyond what I can even
think or imagine.

Thanks for using your story to remind us all to be thankful.
Well done
Rose

Very touching. You make good use of contrast in the three vignettes leading up to the introspective finale. I don't drink but yesterday came across a T-shirt that said "Drink your Beer, there are starving people in India that have none." Cynical and disrespectful, it still drove home your point - count your blessings and they multiply.

Thanks for sharing them....

Sincerely

Will

Jewell, this is a great a great poem and more eloquently expresses the spirit of thanksgiving than any other poem I have read. Your visualization is strong and the poem leads your readers down memory lane. A pleasant journey indeed. Great job.

That's a touching piece of work. Very vividly and and emotionally written. I found the stanzas a bit long and descriptive, taking some of the poetry out of them.

I think you mean adorned with, not adorning?

I like it a lot, but it reads more like prose than poetry to me. Maybe if there were stronger descriptions it'd be more poetic. The subject matter is wonderful, and really well done. I like that these folks all have something to be thankful for, they seem more real that way. Even during times of loss and suffering there are good things that come our way. Thanks for a good read.
