Congratulations on winning this contest! This is a witty little fun piece which certainly made me chuckle. But I think this should also be taken as a serious warning! LOL
Well done!

Thanks, Anabella! And congratulations to you on your second place finish in the Site haiku contest with your beautiful haiku (sakura petals) haiku! As long as we stick with haiku, we can have short, intimate relationships with words and not have to worry about marrying them ... ;0) Art

:) You're welcome, Art. And thank you too!

Hehe, a fun write! And too true. Reminds me too much of how I can be, so absorbed in the words that I forget where I am or what I was doing. Nice and congrats!

Glad you enjoyed it, jehanned. It is amazing how wrapped up in words writers can get. Time takes on a different dimension, which can be good or bad.
Thanks for your comments and congrats ... ;0) Art

I love this picture. Yes we can be so in love with words. Last night I played scrabble, today I spend all day at this site for monopoly money. That's what my kids call it. And I make fun of their video games they are addicted too. LOL

Glad you enjoyed the picture and poem. Yes... it's hard to be too critical of the kids as we spend so much time garnering monopoly money ... ;0) Hey .... congratulations on winning the
Whitney contest!, a new form that I'm just now learning about.
Cheers ... ;0)

Ha, ha, ha. I think I have felt in love with words many times. Some of them coo in my ears, some of them knock at my heart. Yes, I think my husband is jealous with my serial affair with words!

Ah... a jealous husband while you continue to carry on this wordy love affair right before his very eyes. Glad you got a chuckle ... ;0)

What a great complementary illustration
Your poem is in excellent 5/7/5 form, Art.
I love the message you deliver - I've known people on this site who have gotten in hot water with spouses for becoming addicted to this writing site. Brooke

Thanks, Brooke. Glad you enjoyed this haiku. Yes... in hot water and deep trouble for not spending quality time with friends and relatives, as well. Writers have to be careful that relationships don't go on tilt because of their time consuming obsession. Appreciate your thoughts ... ;0) Art

Okay, who's that gal in the picture with ya? I did get a kick out of this little poem. Makes perfect sense to me as long as they remember to check for SPAG. LOL
psst: Just me, but I'd lose the elipsis - maybe just make like a telegram and type STOP. Haha
Best wishes,
Rita

Hey, thanks Rita
The gal in the pic is a famous, prolific novelist. Her luv has turned into an obsession. She hasn't been out of the house for months, spending all her time revising the last three chapters of her latest book.
thanks for the thought on losing the elipsis, which is a kireji in Alvin's haiku class (kind of break in thought before delivering the final line). I earlier had a comma after 'if' which I chucked at the suggestion of a reviewer.
Glad you got a kick out this little poem ... ;0) WordyKat

Oh dear, I think I'm a bigamist! Loved the picture you chose for this poem. You did indeed say a lot with so few words. And, yes, you did make me smile. Thank you and best wishes. janbar
