I especially enjoyed number 2, 4, #5 for the necessitation of something divine or metaphysical it implies; #8 for the direction it suggests we must take in addition to religion to invoke world peace, #20 because the overly competetive world could probably benefit from less importance being placed on winning or beating others, and of course #23 because tolerance is sorely lacking globally as a consequence of exactly the point you bring up. samstone had a cool prompt. i have a contest going right now too if you are interested. its a writing prompt called Funny Answering Machine Message. I think there are still a few spots open though i havent checked since last night before settling in when there were seven spots left; entry fee is one member dollar.
Excellent points you make; not to mention some are funny. but the reason mostly culpable for my liking it is the fact that it is so morally profound. a poem like this would do well to spread like a voracious contagion across the earth so that others could learn the lessons you learned from other others :) great write; i adore your mind.

So I see you are a philosopher too. You are very astute and observant. I especially like #22. It is so "subtle." I don't know if this is in the spirit of what you are trying to say but how's this: IN CHOICE RESIDES BOTH HEAVEN AND HELL. ITIS HEAVEN THAT WE CAN CHOOSE AND HELL WHEN WE HAVE TO."
I will try and add to this wonderful list, Jimi

I love a smart write and an obviously smart writer ... not one who hits it once in awhile with a bit of luck. You are one of the writers on my "smart list". You never disappoint and your intelligence shines through with each piece you write. This was great!!!

So many good ones here.
These particularly.
22. A man who loves to stir a lot of crap, likes the smell.
23. Man's understanding of a closed mind is someone who does not think like himself.
And this one.
11. A man who has lost his vision has smothered his dreams.
Thanks for giving me a lot to think about.
Take care. Nick.

You also are a gifted writer and a vast vocabulary!
Your verbiage strengthens your piece and gives it a higher prestige.
You could publish this piece in a magazine.
I found your perspective on the issues were truthful, and had a lot of emotion. Indeed, you have lived and had experiences to make you have the perspectives that you do.
Bullet Number 2: Had me stumped on two words. Thank you for encouraging me to look it up.
I enjoyed the reference to "sick-care".
Good luck in contest. DreamWriter1212

I loved your list. They are so honest and true. While I was reading each one. I don't know how many times I said 'how true!'. You did a great job. Good luck in the contest. Shirley

I like the balanced and reasoned nature of so many of the items on your list - your listings have a complexity that goes beyond the rants of some. Many of these invite, even demand, the reader to ponder in order to come up with an adequate response, and I love writing that presents that kind of challenge. I'm not just shouting Amen or feeling the need to throw something at you - I'm thinking!! Brooke :-)

adewpearl, girl once again thank you!! It was never meant to provoke the reader to throw stones at me and so I am thrilled. Perhpas some wanted to debate but that is not what I posted it for. It was my observation of mankind. As for politics, I feel it is true. Talk shows, radio shows, fanstory. I know people are passionate about their views but few have learned the art of "tact and deliver". It drives me insane. When you put people on the defensive, you shut off thier desire to listen to anything you have to say. Thank you so very much. Yes I read your piece about Till. You are brilliant and please keep writing such. It brings to the forefront how cruel we humans can be and are to not only man himself, but the animal kingdom and to the Earth. Do not get me wrong, I feel we have good traits too. again thank you..jimi
