Indy, none of my poems have ever made poem of the month, so don't hold your breath. Someone does not like my work where such decisions are made LOL Thanks ever so much for appreciating this poem!! Brooke

WOW...you never have, Brooke?? How is that even possible? You're a talented, creative poet...I hope whoever it is that makes the selections, get their ... well, you know. LOL

Nope, in well over a hundred poems, many which people here seem to like, never, and I honestly at this point don't expect to ever. I also don't do well in site-sponsored contests no matter how strong I think my entry is. The taste of the selection committee does not seem to extend to any of my types of poems - the a-z, the memory poems, the fairy poems, the acrostics, nothing. I long since stopped caring about that lost cause - other writers on site are most encouraging and receptive to my writing, and their opinion means a great deal to me. You are most kind. :-) Brooke

Of all the Christmas poems you have posted so far, this is my favorite. (Great artwork!)
This is a lovely poem that tells a unique story of the glorious birth of Christ. I can imagine this as a small picture book for children. I love it.
This is my favorite stanza:
"She'd faithfully served this commonplace task
though one could argue it seemed too mundane.
While most fairies lived in magical lands,
not once had she balked or thought to complain."
It teaches a good lesson. Many times our jobs or tasks seem mundane or insignificant, but we may not have seen the bigger picture yet!
I love this poem. Bravo, Brooke! Fabulous storytelling.

Hi adew,
Your idea to write this was truly inspirational. Adding Holly to the Christmas Story gave it a special touch. The name you chose for her couldn't be more perfect It made the Christmas story we know even more special than it is.
The imagery was off the chart.
When you wrote this your rhyme was so smooth and flawless that at times it seemed to slip through your fingers, you hardly noticed you were reading rhymed poetry. This is far BEYOND exquisite. I have a feeling this poem is going to be around for a long, long time. I am so glad I have a six to give you
God Bless You and Merry Christmas

Oh, what a great poem. Believe it or not, the last several lines sent shivers through me. The line starting with Sweetie Girl, made me stop and chuckle. The poem evoked certain feelings perfectly at the right moment. Very well done. And hurrah to the Christmas Fairy! Thanks for sharing!

How wonderfully imaginative is this poem! Terrific word composition and poetic mastery. The juxtaposition of the fairy and the fable is absolutely divine! Great work, DewPearl. Blessings to you in this holiday season. Seraph ~

Great poem. It's nice to think of fairies helping God and the shepherds. Nice word choices to portray the message and the ideas flow smoothly.

We sang the "Holly and the Ivy" carol every yead when I was a child. Now I can tell my grandchildren the story of "Holly the Christmas Fairy "which I know they will love.

The holly and the ivy, in my opinion, is one of the loveliest carols ever - many on site do not know it!! Thank you so very very much for this kind and generous response to my story poem and please tell me how the grandchildren like it!!
