Yes, I was uncertain about being lonely during the holidays but I rose above those doubts and became my friend and companion on that special day of days.

What I've sensed in your personal growth, Jesse, is that while you may want to be together with family on a holiday (because we're all taught by society that is what is DONE)-- you no longer have to subscribe to that societal "rule."
Mindfulness, Qualia (again great concept) -- the ability to spend your holiday with the person that loves you the most--which always should have been you!
Many people reading this, including me, will now be wondering how nice it will be if we choose to devote a holiday to ourselves ~ doing as we wish, or not doing what we shouldn't have to do because some ad on tv tells us so.
You're comfortable with yourself. Well, you should be! Look at how far you've come in all aspects of your life.
You sound empowered. Your writing has a special "spark" to it now that glows through your well-chosen words.
I wish you the very best in 2025! You have many changes to come, and you are (literally) taking brave new steps towards a brighter and brighter future!

I agree. The older I get, the more I appreciate my alone time. I like how you put that when you wrote I turned my fear into peace. Peace is what it is about any way in the scheme of things.
