I'm post-operative with eye surgery @ the moment and am allowed only five minutes of screen time in the a.m. and the p.m., and I wanted to spend it on Miranda.
This chapter is especially fantastic. It really covers the gamut: Waylon, Dougie's continued interest to woo (Hahaha. That man becomes more pathetic by the hour...and ps - it worries me that if Waylon can't keep THAT secret to himself, can he do so with the inheritance?!)
I also LOVED the segment in Elaine's office. The bus reference was hysterical!!! Perfect, perfect, perfect!!
Oh - and then the "tell" at the end!! Now we know for sure!!
You're the BEST writer, Gretchen. I love everything you write. Xo

Well, those were two difficult conversations for Miranda. She has to insist that Waylon not tell his father and we know that Dougie will not let go of his dream to get Miranda back especially if he finds out about the money. Did the reporter publish the amount in the newspaper? She did take a picture, right?
Anyway, the other difficult talk was with the principal. It's too bad that they can't have a civil conversation but I guess the information has to be kept completely confidential as she is responsible for hiring Tomlin.

He shrugs. "Who knows," he says. (you don't need 'he says.' it's understood, remove and put a period after 'knows.")

Miranda is one of those people I'd like in real life. She is a good ol' girl who tries to do the right things, but is not unwilling or afraid to step up and do whatever it takes to get something done. :-) Thanks for sharing.
