I love mixed gardens of flowers. We don't have bluebonnets, but the other flowers are familiar. Flower gardens of the casual and colourful sort always get my attention, and your casual rhymed verse, including some unusual word choices, fits the theme. I think I'd put an apostrophe and an s in "for growing's sake" in the first stanza, though.

You obviously have a love of all growing things, use that love and knowledge to weave a metaphor from the subject and then develop that though into the second stanza leading to a conflict in the third.
