I absolutely loved this, Gipsy, the tanka and your author's notes. I do have a passion for ghosts! lol. I wonder if you could get that youth potion for me, or even the recipe?? I would be very grateful. Where I live, near Cornwall, there are lots of witches, still active today, nice ones! And many stories going back over the centuries. This tanka is fabulous. Just to let you know, I just checked and apparently their is a wiccan coven in The New Forest, where I actually live! I'm going to check it out. Perhaps I'll be able to get the youth potion from them! Lol Well done, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

Hehe.... I need a youth potion too. My daughter is a Wiccan and plays around with herbs, candles, sage, and crystals.... nothing serious but it's interesting.

One year when I taught first grade, I had a mother of one of my students who was Wiccan. Very interesting person and we had many conversations. Thank you for sharing the poem and presentation with us. I enjoyed both.

i liked the personal imagery of bellia (cool name, too)
with the bird on the right sitting quietly next to her... nice.
love the line "sprinkled with stardust" - nice touch!
