Kudos to you!!! A courageous stance to take and one I 100% support and appreciate. The despicable manner in which we treat cattle, chickens, pigs, turkeys is the reason I went vegetarian 11 years ago.

What an absolutely sad poem. The picture and video are sad also. That's one of the reasons I don't eat meat. No living creature should have to endure those types of conditions.

I totally agree. I don't see why animals have to suffer.

Thanksgivings, Christmas and Easter don't have to be drowned in blood.

Turkeys and sheep can live up to 10 years, instead, farm turkeys are slaughtered even as young as 14 weeks, and sheep from 10 weeks to 6 months.

Lambs are forcefully separated from their moms and kept in filthy
enclosures like poults.

We could easily celebrate without all this cruelty and gore.

You're welcome. I have seen videos of cows being punched in the face and just don't right abused before slaughter. What the hell is wrong with the human race? Have we fallen that far from grace?

I couldn't bear to watch the video but I commend you here for bringing home the reality of this seasonal feast. It reminds me of when I overheard someone in a queue excitedly discussing how she was going to be celebrating with a quail cooked inside a chicken cooked inside a turkey. Disgusting indeed.

The pic was enough to upset me. You can see how stressed they are, their feathers full of feces.

I can't take all the suffering.

Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving are drenched in the blood of these poor victims.

Lambs are ripped from their moms and then for those 14 weeks, they live in filthy enclosures ...same fate awaits poults.

Dairy farms are horrific too.

It's brutal from the get-go. Mamma turkey takes care of her offspring.

She will provide shelter from the wind and rain, and teach them how to find food. She also protects them from predators.

These poor poults hatch and are dumped in a semi-dark shed, fattened so fast that many remain lame or crippled under their own weight. All that suffering just upsets me.

This is such a sad post and this is because chickens are produced simple as food with no thought of the lives they are leading because they are born, get fat and then they are killed for us to eat. Can we persuade the population to be vegans? I cannot see this changing anytime soon, a poignant write, love Dolly x
