That is a glorious picture. Nice poetry. How did Halloween go for you? I slept through it. I sleep at odd hours these days. This is the best I have read so far. Karen :-)

Thank you, Karen! Halloween went as usual... about 50 groups of trick or treaters, emptied our large basket of candy... it was good. Weather was great here.

Best wishes for the contest. I love gnarly trees. We have a 300 year old pear tree in our local park. Tenacious they stand with feet in the ground. Never to give in unless it's their time or man in his warped decision cuts them down. K xx

Once again I find myself apologising for not having a six. This really is a superb 5-7-5 poem. The old-tree image is wonderful, the words equally impressive and it tells a complete story. I wish every 5-7-5 poem was this good.

I love this tree, what a beauty and what a will to live it has. In my meditation I focus on my tree of life, I shall think of this one this afternoon. Loved your 5-7-5 poem, rooted in rubble but still tenacious. Good luck in the contest.

I like this! The visual is impressively eye-catching and your 5-7-5 aptly complements with strong alliterative imagery and an inspiring message of nature. Well done and good luck! Debbie

Your poem can be likened to the rejected stone that became the corner stone of a structure. Thanks for sharing your well written inspiration. Accept my warmest regards.

Trees are so strong and their roots are determine to expand to other places. Your use of words and poetic form capture the essence of trees and they are indeed tenacious. Excellent use of words that well describes a part of nature.
