Ah, yes, we can all relate to wanting to chase waves with the energy of a kid. My favorite part is their contagious laughter. Great scene captured in 11 syllables! Best wishes in the contest!

Ciao!
Im in bed it's 24.40 and I m taking a last peek on fanstory and I read your poem.
You wrapped up in those 11 syllables how I feel.
Everything I love is disappearing, our country is fallen apart and there is nothing but gloom on the horizon.
I still have my pine forest , I go there to escape from the grim reality.
I also wish I could be that CAREFREE child that loved to trap tadpoles in a corner of the creek and watch them grow. I was a tomboy ( biggrin)
Congratulations on your ribbon win , I'm surprised your bittersweet poem did not get a sixer .

The innocense of childhood and not fearing anything... not even a wave twice as tall as you. It's a shame that as we age, it disappears. Great poem.

Yes, it is a shame that innocence disappears with age. Many thanks for your kind praise, Carol.

Oh, those were the days. What wonderful memories this poem and picture conjure up. I miss those days, but then again, I wouldn't have the wisdom I do today.
