I like the mention of the prodigal son, it speaks to the reader. Your words bring forth a feeling of faith. "Pull me from this quicksand" is a perfect line that creates a vivid image. Excellent poetic form and use of words.

In a world where excuses or blaming others seems to be a circumventing of taking ownership of our sins, this poem of repentance is inspired by the light of our Lord!

This is very dramatically illustrated and expressed. Your plea for forgiveness and redemption is impressively conveyed in your rhyming verse and will, I'm sure, be a strong contender in the contest. Well done and good luck! Debbie

I love the sheer humility of your post, I think this is the only way to approach the Lord to do it humble abeyance to His holy goodness and mercy, He can't abide the pride that seems to pour from mankind, with a sense of entitlement that humans have these days, beautifully written, great work D&V, blessings Roy

When we feel we are mired in the quicksand of fear and doubt, we need to reach out to our loving Creator for help. He knows our weaknesses and can lift us out of whatever situation we're stuck in to be free again. We just need to believe that He is there.

This is a very spiritual piece and I could feel your trust in God as I was reading it which really comes through in your writing as you ask for forgiveness. A Well written piece. Good luck in the contest.
