Oh I feel reading this, there is a little bit of mystery involved mostly because of the image choice to compliment your poem! I really like this, gets you wondering...excellent well done!

Well with Halloween close by , I can see why this pic inspired you.
When I enlarged it :
a. the Holocaust came to mind immediately.
b. Then I thought of animal bones; they are crushed to make glue, musical instruments, jewellery, weapons etc
So human bones could easily be used in the same fashion.
c. American Ed Gein would have been delighted.. he dug up dead bodies and made waste baskets , chair seats , bowls , bedposts etc with human bones, skulls.
In Africa and Papua New Guinea warriors used to drink from the skulls of their victims and display them as trophies.
In 1590 during a siege the people of Paris starving after eating horses, cats, dogs, rats, human bones were taken from the cemeteries and ground to make "bread".
In Sierra Leone there is a new drug called Kush a mix of cannabis, fentanyl, tramadol, formaldehyde and apparently human crushed bones.
The possibilities are many indeed.

I'm not sure how your words relate to the picture as I felt a little terror here. Perhaps this has a deep meaning about the Holocaust? Those evil men who thought their actions were good when they were evil.
I wish you luck with the contest and I hope others can understand this, love Dolly x x x

It is intentionally vague, but I hope more in line with Halloween than deeper evil.

It was important to add the picture here to see the humor. It gave me a good laugh. You've managed to convey humor and a story in five words. I think that's a record!

An excellent entry for the 1-9-1 Poem writing prompt. Very cool artwork to go with this unique poem. Syllable counts are correct. Good luck in the contest.

The poem posted with the picture is ghoulishly delightful or maybe just flat-out terrifying--engaging format: 1-9-1. You did a great job of making me think about the lines and the meaning. gayla
