This paragraph will draw the reader in. The plot thickens: "Fiona sighed, shaking her head. "You can deny it, but I saw the test. And when I tried to help her, she got angry and snatched it away so no one else would know." Fiona's eyes filled with concern. "She's been so secretive about it." this is getting good: "His gaze lingered on Sharice, her crossed arms and flaring nostrils betraying more than mere frustration. Was Fiona baiting her? Or was she afraid of being exposed?" a continuation

Glad this chapter kept you wondering what was going on and which sister was the victim and which the threat. thank you so much for the review and for continuing to follow.

It looks like Fiona really does believe that her sister has had something to do with Preyton's death. That was a really intense scene between them, Carol, and I didn't know who to believe when they were arguing about Sharice being pregnant. A well written chapter, I really enjoyed it.

Exactly how I intended...keep the reader guessing. This one isn't going to be a long story so it might have a few chapters left. then the new one in November. I can't believe how fast this month has gone. Thanks as always.

In the first chapter Fiona was remembering being in the wheelchair as a child and Sharice taking Peyton away from her.But here it is stated she has been in the chair a few months, and now she walks to the fireplace. Confusing. :-)

You had me reading and re-reading this chapter looking for where it said she had been in the wheelchair for months...I was losing my mind. then I went back a chapter and yes, Sharice said months. I changed it and now we have Fiona able to walk but keeping it a secret from all. Thanks for spotting the slip up.

I had a feeling Fiona wasn't actually confined to that wheelchair. These two really are the sisters from hell, and you are doing a good job of showing that. Intrigued to see where you go with this Carol.
cheers,
valda

Yes, Valda, they both have things to hide and are tearing each other apart. I don't think I can feel sorry for either at the moment. Appreciate the review and your kindness.

Well, Fiona has certainly portrayed Sharice in a bad light, casting suspicion on her - but Fiona seems quite crazy herself. Who knows where the truth lies? Only you, of course, and you may not have decided yet! Lol. Well done.

Either one is hiding things and neither is telling the whole truth. It will be interesting to see how this unfolds. It won't be long though. Thanks as always, Wendy.

This strange story continues as Fiona seems determined to convince the detective that her sister killed her neighbor. When Sharice finds the knife in the book, that seems really weird, and Fiona seems angry enough to kill somebody.

It is a strange story, isn't it? Fiona used the hollowed out book to hide the knife... Now that the secret is out, wonder what comes next? Thanks so much, Carol.

I'm suspicious of both sisters. Sharice was at the medical center. Or was she? Now that we know Fiona doesn't always need the wheel chair, who knows where she could show up? Plus, Fiona is bold and crafty. It's good the two sisters don't live in the same house. The biggest mystery...Where is Peyton while these two sisters fight?

Yes, where is Peyton? And who is he with? And was Sharice the woman or was there someone else or did one ever exist? So many questions bouncing around this creepy tale.

Ewwww...chilling. Fiona sounds like she is off balance, perhaps evil? Certainly needs new reading material. Good writing Carol. I need to hear about one day in your life. I put up another blind contest, I liked the last one so well. Not for winning, just getting to know people. For fun. Who were you at five?

I would love to accomadate your request Esther but I don't know if I want to write about who I was a five.... I block a lot of my childhood out. I was never as brave as you.

Carol, there is a new writer whose first post broke my heart. Initials S.H, about her childhood monsters. We all have stories and she needs us to hear hers.

I already read it and it broke my heart. She's brave to put it all out there with her very first post.

Thanks Carol. I want her to know she is OK and keep writing. It helps my monsters...bless you. Es

Sometimes we need to scrape the scab off the infection inside us so it can get better. If we pretend it isn't there it never heals. Fan story is a safe place so far for me to process things.

The evil mind is always working, which gives them a huge advantage over the average person whose thoughts just meander along wondering what's next. :-) Thanks for sharing.

Is that my evil mind you are referring to or Fiona's? This story is giving me the creeps as well. I think Poe is visiting at night and getting me wrapped up in crazy stuff. LOL Thanks for stopping by to say hello.

I think you're anything but evil, but I do think you've seen a lot and are adaptable to about anything. Which gives you and insight to all kinds of characters. Just my observation, or should I say guess. :-)

A very intuitive one! I am so lucky to have become friends with you. I always look forward to your observations and opinions concerning my stories, me, and life. Thanks so much. Smiles and hugs!

My observations are a simple man's opinions, probably more wrong than right. But this old brain and my perspectives are all I have to count on; besides, what I can pick up on and learn from the few I come to trust. And you know, trusting myself is sometimes scary. :-)

I'd always trust you...You are honest, forthcoming with the truth, and especially kind. I know what you mean about trusting one's self...sometimes that's a tough one.
