Dude, post number 500? That's unbelievable to me! Congratulations:-)

This brought back memories of my childhood, and how we thought of truckers as kind of "knights of the road." They DID stop to help motorists. Now everyone has to stay on a strict company schedule, like my Amazon driver, who has a rhythmic ticking sound that dictates his cadence from truck to door and back.

The 50% in favor or not of Robin Hood or hood again shows how divided we are as a nation. In everything.

I liked this chapter, as it gave some great insight into the trucking business, as far as their challenges, liabilities, etc. I think it was needed for us to fully understand the world in which Clyde has forced himself.

Congratulations on your 500th post, Wayne! And I always liked the PBS News Hour. My mom was so sad that Judy Woodruff retired. You made the interview sound very much like one she would do. I also like that without weighing in or giving her own opinion, she just informs the audience of the two ways that the Turnpike Terrorist is viewed as " Robin Hood, or just a hood."

Thank you and thank you. I think Judy would be tickled.
Geoff Bennett is a great follow on to Judy.

Typical style of interview where the person doesn't respond to the questions asked and slides away from any accountability. Now, how does Clyde view himself? A robin hood? Facing danger and the prospect of being caught, for the sake of all road-users by improving truckers' driving?
I guess we'll see ....

Thank you for your very nice review. Clyde was surprised by the comparison to Robin Hood. And he totally dismissed being referred to as a hood, or terrorist. He only wants truckers to learn from their mistakes after suffering a little 'time-out' ... and ultimately to avenge Jane Ann.

This was an interesting discussion for Clyde to hear. They are going to let the trucks go faster. I wonder if Clyde sees himself as a hero or a terrorist.

He's always considered himself a simple man set on teaching bad drivers simple lessons and in so doing, avenging his wife. He doesn't understand the terrorist label.
Thank you for your very nice review.

Well, it looks like Clyde dodged the last segments bullet. LOL. But you keep me wondering what's about to happen next all the time. Great job!
Thanks for sharing.

Well, there we have it in a nutshell. Is Clyde Robin Hood or just a hood. Is he a bully or bully for him as Teddy Roosevelt might have said.

Although many of the truckers follow the rules, Clyde is certainly making the country aware of some of the abuses heaped on the 4-wheelers by them. He reminds me of a certain politician who uses unconventional methods to shake people up and to show them how horrible the status quo on the road is and how much power and influence the truckers have.

Yay! You got the whole point of the story. (Not to say that there aren't idiotic car drivers.)
    thanks for your great review.

You know a great deal about trucks and truck drivers. Your dialogue with PBS reporter Judy Woodruff is excellent. I learned a lot about truck drivers. It was well done and believable. I felt I had tuned into a live interview. One paragraph needs some work. I think some extra words were inserted. It the one that starts: "Yes, but isn't it true that many of them don't belong.......... I liked the ending. "A Robin Hood or just a hood." Keep on trucking, and thanks for the story. gayla

Wow! You did an excellent job with this chapter and the on-air interview. My husband was an over-the-road trucker before we were married, but I heard both sides of the story, and none of it is pretty.
Smiles, Carol

shall we, Judy asked. (Just needs a quick quote mark)
