A poem that makes the reader take a second look. I'm trying to picture the King in a bombed tin. That is what a good haiku should do, make the poet think.

I liked it, but m not sure I understand it. However, it served the purpose of a haiku by causing my mind to visualize your words and ponder the feeling it represented.

Will you pity, or save him? Then a myriad of other questions may follow, but... Thank you, my friend, much appreciated.

I would both pity and do my best to save him.
Comment from Begin Again
Did everyone abandon their king in order to save their own lives? Or was he left behind on purpose as the others escaped his rule? He's on his own now.

That's the million-dollar question right there, Begin, perhaps it depends on which end of the piece the title question is placed. "Will you; pity and save him or not? Why, may lead us into a myriad of other questions too. Thanks for the kind words.

Not sure what the middle line means here and this may be due to local dialect. Kings can often be out of touch with public opinion, I wish you luck with the contest, love Dolly x

Left injured and alone in a bombed-out metal building, parching. Well, that's how I pictured it, laugh. Thanks for the kind wishes.
