A very interesting piece, in terms of the topic and the structure. I love the scattering of internal rhymes in the lines. They keep popping up in a way that keeps the reader interested. Including some (pseudo?) dialogue also keeps the interest up. The content covers some fundamental truths (and misguided beliefs) about the political system and its consequences in a non-confrontational way.

As I've often said, when it comes to poetry, I wouldn't know a sonnet from sorbet. But every once in a while I get a few minutes to venture out and read a few verses. Thanks for sharing.

I know I missed something, but I don't know what. Did you write this to be read backward, or did you intend it to be a word salad? I got the guise of what you wrote. Yes, as voters, we must be careful about the deception.
There were several characters in the writing that should not be there. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for your kind thoughts and observations, Maria, much appreciated. I wish you would have said why some characters should not be there though, perhaps we could make it better next time.

I just wish we had better choices for candidates--someone with some backbone and who told the truth. Please check your paragraph breaks and double space. What a wonderfully written poem. Welcome. Have a great day, and God bless.

Wow, I'm thrilled. Thanks, papa mike, for the kind thoughts, and suggestions also noted and appreciated. I will definitely seek to apply the same in my future work, thanks.
