It's tough to "put yourself out there". You feel so vulnerable. I didn't do any of the media stuff when I self-published my first book, and it didn't do very well. I expected that, because my goal was to just to publish a book. You sound as though you're a bit more serious though. I believe that when you meet your readers, you'll be just fine. They want to see you and listen to you. Blogs I don't care for - too much work, but interviews shouldn't be difficult. Be honest. The rest will fall into place. Good luck. Congratulations on your book. Be yourself. Stay well.

Well, you should be over the moon, that you get all this attention. It would be the dream of many a writer. So go for it.
I agreed to do to the You Tube: omit Ty he last 'to'.
Lucky you. Ulla:)))

It's kind of like what my dad always said, "Don't spend too much trying to figure out what you're going to do and how you're going to do it. Just do something!" And it appears that you are. :-)

Barbara,
I'm glad things are going well for you. I can't even get one novel together yet.
I hope your upcoming videos are successful.
Good luck!
Best wishes,
Cindy

I'm glad to know you are going forward. If readers discover they can relate to you, they will be more inclined to buy your books.
One author, whose book I read, did a wide screen zoom call at my local library. She talked about the research she did to get authentic information for her fiction novel, and talked about her process. She even took questions from some of the 50 people in attendance at the library. She was just a regular person like all of us. It encouraged us to buy her books from Amazon.
YouTube shorts should do wonders for you. I wish you much success.

I have no advice to give, as I am not a professional author. Just know that I'm rooting for you! I think you'll do a great job with your promotions. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

It's interesting to hear what you are going through since I will probably have to go through it myself soon. I think the more you do in promotion, getting the book and you out there for people to consider, it will help sales. The biggest issue with selling books is that there are literally millions and tens of millions of books out there and most readers don't even know about them. The more you do to put YOUR book in the consideration of readers, the better it will do. estory

Marking is much harder than writing the novel, at least for me. Thank you for the support.

I would practice with a friend. Write a list of possible questions and answer them . Practice so that it becomes ordinary, and not a stressfful thing. How old where yoy when you first started writing? What was the first thing you ever wrote? Who is your favorite writer? Do you only write novels? Is it hard to write"clean" novels? Do you have a favorite place to write? Stuff like that. :-)

My publisher, Kevin has given me a list of questions to answer, and I haven't returned them. LOL I got lectured about that too. I have worked on it but haven't finished. I don't like some of the questions. LOL Thank you for the support. I appreciate it.

In this day and age, where there are so very many authors and books and choices out there, you must stand out in some way. Social media seems to be the thing that most successful writers are using as a tool in their sales toolbox. If your goal is to sell books, you've got to put yourself out there. I agree with Kevin on that one.
Thanks for the update, and good luck.
