Another fine poem, Gypsy....you think of winter when you feel so bad for them, not summer, but with climate change I suppose now it's all year long.

I'm curious, in Los Angeles do the homeless have someplace to go to get out of the heat? In my city we offer shelter to them. I don't know if every place does or not. Thank you for sharing this need with us in a wonderfully written poem.

We do have some shelters to spend the night but not the whole day and night

Thank you very much, Barbara 😊

Thank you for remembering those who are "unhoused". They are the ones who suffer most in the heat waves as well as the during the extreme cold. Oregon tried to give every one a tent but then it really didn't help when they refused to go to shelters because the shelters refused to let them bring their guns. It's so hard to find a solution for these people.

This is steeped in impact and poignancy. The presentation is stunning and the picture you paint of homelessness vivid and heart-wrenching. A surprising and powerful last line. Thanks for sharing. Debbie

This work has reached the exceptional level

I have seen my share of homeless people as I move around. I can only imagine their struggle in this sweltering heat. I know through interaction that some of them are gifted poets and artists of various disciplines. I think that your words speaks to this growing problem in our nation. The little I do is never enough, and it troubles my heart.

This is very nicely written and I enjoyed very much listening to it. I also enjoyed listening to your notes. It is amazing to me that there is so many who are very talented that find themselves in a position where they are homeless. Have a good day and may God bless you. Patricia.

Shelters are only for nights. Many homeless people die during extreme heat weather.... 1200 a year.

Thank you very much, Melissa 😊
