So much of this pain of the past is linked to nature and the weather. You've chosen some wild imagery to express the passion interspersed with a transitional moment of calm reflection. Thanks for sharing, Gypsy.Take care Debbie

Love is a very complicated emotion. This poem seems to be speaking about love that was associated grief and regret. Perhaps over once which might have been pure, but turned toxic.
Was it then truly love.

I believe we are all masters of our own emotions. Yes, they can often send us into our deepest pits, but I believe with God's help we can be lifted out. If we allow Him to do that. I know with the death my infant son; I was angry with God. I blamed Him for allowing Michael to die. He remained faithful and waited until I was ready. Thank you for sharing.

Of course, I agree. This is just a poem... a bit dramatic lol it's the Spanish poet in me.

Your poem beautifully captures a past love. The way you use weather to share your feelings is moving. The final lines, with their "aching lightning" and "dark clouds" are perfect examples. What wonderful word choices. You can feel the emotion in your poem. So well done! And I love the presentation too!

That's so hard with the past that still clings and brings up "painful memories". Even though the love was "toxic", it shows that it was strong and still something remembered, not easily forgotten.

This was a bit melodramatic lol it's the Spanish poet in me. But my ex husband has been on my mind, no emotions... just on my mind. I wonder how he's doing.

Thank you very much, big sister.
