Maybe so, but I have had to give up on romantical pastries. They wore me plum out.They stole everything of value I ever owned.
Left me destitute. If some guy comes up and hits on me, I will slap them in the face. Just saying. I have friends who are men. Like you, but I avoid them in real life. :-)

"sickeningly sweet pastry" Interesting oxymoronic imagery.
"Staining heart and soul" Straining usually has a negative connotation and mars the imagery here. It doesn't quite connect well with the concept of love.

I love the comparison of the love and a pastry. I'm upset with you right now. I'm going out to get gas and breakfast in few minutes because we're leaving for my son's house on the Gulf for the weekend and now I need a warm sticky cinnamon roll. GRRRRR
