The story just stopped. It didn't have an ending.

Try this: Momma cut off the parts wax had touched. It was mostly on the skin anyway. And she made double the gravy to coat the meat if needed. Most of the turkey was okay. Little sister had a stiff talking to, and then she was given kitchen duty for a month. Thanksgiving wasn't broken, but it walked with a little limp. Karen

I guess I should have said we couldn't eat the turkey and my mom made chicken. My father was a strict father received a spanking. I know she was young abd didn't understand what would happen, my father wasn't understanding. Put it this way, he was abusive.

I know your family was devastated. The delicious smell of the turkey probably permeated the house. I would guess your sister never again touched food your mother was cooking. This was a Thanksgiving everyone would remember, always.

Oh my goodness! lol At least she came forward and admitted it so that everyone wasn't punished. I had something like that happen once and none of my siblings admitted doing it so we all got in trouble! I am wondering if Dr. Seuss got his book idea from something like this happening in his kitchen at breakfast time. Thanks for sharing.

Oh no! Christmas dinner absolutely ruined and I can totally understand your dad's frustration. Thankfully your sister even at the age of 5 was courageous and owned up. Poor little pet didn't understand what the consequences were, she thought she was doing a good thing! Great story, thanks for sharing

Thanksgiving when you were poor. I enjoyed listening to it very much. It flows very well when it is ready. I am sorry that it happened to you that way, but I am so glad that it's a memory that you can write about. Patricia.M

I've had turkey in many ways....but never a green one! LOL I think it would have made my stomach turn and I'd never be able to look at Mr. Tom Turkey the same way again. Thanks for sharing your story. It left me with a smile.

Oh no! But I wonder if it would still be safe to eat? It was mostly wax? Unless it had lead in the crayon. What a waste of food. Still, I'm impressed your little sister confessed. I'm sure she never lived that down!

Dear child, it must have been in innocence that she put the crayon, but she was incredibly brave for her to do so Brenda. Some kids are adventurous and very feisty, Regis is beautifully written, blessings Roy

Yeah, I know. She didn't realize what would happen. My father was a rough dad. Thank you for the nice review.

What a fun and relatable family moment! I could really feel the tension and humor as the green turkey mystery unfolded. The way you described your family's reactions made me smile and brought the scene to life. Just a couple of small tweaks for clarity would make it even better. Even so, it's a great story that really captures a unique and memorable holiday moment we can all relate to!

Paragraph 1:
Add a comma after "3 hours" for clarity.
Paragraph 3:
Add a space after said, and change on to to onto.
Paragraph 5:
Add a comma after I didn't do for proper punctuation.
Paragraph 6:
Change "minute" to "minutes" and use a semicolon or period to correct the run-on sentence.
Paragraph 7:
Add a comma after face for proper punctuation.

This was a cute story, but I'm sorry your turkey was ruined. I'm glad your little sister confessed so everyone was not punished. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.
