Hi Bill,
He's tossing his name aside and renaming his businesses "45". How many votes will that bring in? He's got to stop spending time in court, and get back to campaigning. And I don't mean accusing Harris or Walz of this or that. Trump needs to tackle the country's issues, and what he's going to do about them if he's elected. But it's not his style. He's going to dirty the pool where Harris and Walz take their morning dip. We'll see pretty soon... the Man or the Myth? If he does become the next President of the United States, he might be the first president to be sentenced to time in a prison! How will that look to the rest of the world?
"Half the country sees him a saint." ... and that's the truth. Also the problem. Last time the vote was so close, Republican supporters stormed Congress. Personally, I think there could be another Civil War in the United States if Trump is beaten by a narrow margin. The only thing that will save the country is if he's beaten so bad... he'll have to crawl away.
I enjoyed your poem, Bill. I'm a Canadian, but truly interested in the coming election in your country. It will affect us, too.

My hope that half the country by Electoral vote counting will not say he is anything close to being a saint (or a good candidate). His vaccine rhetoric or position was not Presidential IMHO.
Many of us believe he is the sinner and certainly not thinner LOL

As a young girl, I was taught to stand tall for our country, to be proud of our flag, and to treat others as we wish to be treated as well. Somewhere, somehow, all of that has been lost...Have we become so blind that we find it okay for our nation's capitol to be attacked, for someone to be convicted of criminal activity but be supported as president, for bold lies to be accepted as the new truth? Anyone who supports Putin and boldly says that we will never have to vote again if he claims the office....that's a new government for America and one I don't want to see. I try to steer away from politics because everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I guess you put a little "spirit" in my morning coffee. Well done!

The problem has always been the Congress. Any dumb president can poop all over, but the Congress has to allow it. Trump has enjoyed the Senate helping him deny a progressive Supreme Court Justice replacement by Obama, but okay three conservative appointments by Trump, leading to the 6-3. Now the court has ended federal abortion and allowed Trump to never be prosecuted.

I guess you have to be here to feel the weight of his presidency on the moral fiber of the nation. He seems to want power like Putin, who can never lose an election, and Jinping, President for Life of China.

I started out rigid, but pulled back a bit when a Trumpette told me to F-off. This approach covers the current feelings in the Republican Party, that Trump is a flawed genius who is God's to-be-converted warrior.
