This is a very well written and presented free verse poem. The motif compliments the imagery very well. Your use of black, white and grey as the background palette, written on with red and brighter hues, create a balance of the macabre and purity of the love expressed beyond the grave. I read quite a few of Allan Poe's writings, and I also like Wordsworth. This poem reminds me of, Wordsworth's, "A slumber did my spirit seal."
Well done.

I read Wordsworth's, "A slumber did my spirit seal.", it does have that woeful feeling.

I guess the lovers remain connected even if separated by death. Somehow I don't think angels "envy" as they don't have any sexuality. Jesus said that angels and all of us beyond the grave won't have that male/female thing.

I was using a reference from 'Annabel Lee's poem. I deleted that last stanza... it wasn't necessary.
Thank you, Big Sister. I hope you are having a great weekend... not too busy. Micaela went to a concert with her girlfriend and Nick went to bed with Atticus, so I am watching Muffin. I don't think she needs it but my kids are spoiling her. lol
Love,

Micaela and nick are spoiling muffin she has plenty of treats and all kinds of stuff you can imagine.... like shoes!. That one is ridiculous. It's clear she was abused and has taken her a while to get comphortable. She wouldn't jump on the sofa or back until yesterday, we were worried she couldn't. We took her to a groomer and we found she has scabs on her head. She always wants our food, she was probably feed scraps.
We are all happy to have her.
