I'm sure your lasting impression with this storm is one that comes to mind often and always has. You all were very lucky and realize how close you came to biting the bullet. Glad you already have a chartreuse plus sign since I'm all out of sixes. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Ric. I agree I was incredibly lucky. I do remember it all extremely well. I got several sixes on this but thanks for the virtual one you would give me if you weren't out.

Excellent description of the damage done by the tornado. Nice reference to February weather and Grandpa's prediction. Again, you added humor with wanting a ride in the sky. A riveting read, Beth.

Thank you for an excellent review and the six star. I really appreciate your comment. The storm is still as clear in my mind as though it happened yesterday.

Yes, I know that you told this before but each time you give us new information. I love that your grandfather was a weatherman and the animals gave you a clue first, too! Praising God for keeping you and your mom safe!!

Thank you Helen. I'm glad your willing to read the story again for whatever new I might add. I think my grandpa was better at knowint what the weather was going what the weater was going to than all the scientific guesses we get today.

WOW I was waiting for this story, and you did not disappoint I have seen videos on them and it frightens me, anything swirling can strike a person in the head, luckily you were all alive.

Thank you Joann. I feel we were very lucky to be alive and fact we could go through all of that and not even be bruised is mindbowing. I really appreciate the Six stars.

Oh my goodness, how terrifying this is Beth and you were lucky to survive without a bruise in sight. I have never seen a storm like this in my life and living in areas where there are tornadoes takes some courage, than you for sharing your story, love Dolly x x x

Thank you Dolly. I guess we all get use to whatever inconveniences or dangers we have to live with and start to think what we have we like better than living somewhere else. I perfer warm temperatures and storms to cold, damp and snow. Thanks for the review.

This story, In the Clutches of a Tornado, is a thrilling and "you are there" accounting of this tornado event. So very blessed and fortunate to have survived a direct strike like that. I've seen some devastated bodies, but as an adult. I can imagine such a sight to be scarring for a kid.

A horror story of danger, and yet you all survived. God did answer your prayers! Your poor father! In Australia we have cyclones which are similarly destructive, and cause much loss of life, particularly in the northern and eastern states. Well written.

Thank you Windy, It is interesting that your storms are different. I think I've heard the cyclones are wider and more like a hurricane and that the wind retates in the opposite direction in Australia. I appreciate the review. I know God was watching over us.

Wowie zowie!! This was thrilling to read! You certainly got your wish! YIKES!! Your poor father, though, coming from the other direction and watching his house getting demolished, knowing his family was inside! He must have had nightmares forever from that!!

I was leaving college in Nebraska, after having just graduated. Two of my friends were driving me to the airport a town away, and because the "points" of one cloud in particular were getting very low, we got out of the car and hunkered down into one of the those highway ditches on the side of the road. LIke you described, the sky got all weirdly yellow/gray, and the feeling of a vacuum was all around us. We could see it touch down an entire town away because it's so flat there. All I could think was, "Oh, my parents are going to be SOOO mad at me if I die here in this ditch after they spent a fortune on my education, and I never got to use it!"

My mother told me when she's a little girl she was standing out on the back porch with her dog and because she had rubber boots on she was spared the dog was killed by the lightning. So I guess your mother had a good idea that you should be wearing the boots in case you were struck by lightning. Wow it's becoming more real for her this is well written.

Story about a tornado hitting a small town in Mississippi I enjoyed listening to it very much. It flows very well. Your sin structure and your paragraphing is very good. I wish you the very best with all of your writing. Thankfully, I have never experienced a tornado in my life, the only thing that I ever experienced, it even came close to it was that we had a straight line when that came across our town and when I lived in Las Cruces said it did quite a bit of damage for about 4 miles.
