I love poems that rhyme and have meter, and this poem does both. Its meter is so regular that it could be put to a song. I know this poem already placed 1st in the contest, but, if you feel like editing it, you could also include how the Dems completely disregarded their own primary.... and just let the elect decide on their candidate. It is so ironic, considering the very name of their own party is based on the root-word "democracy." I saw no evidence of a democratic procedure in the way she was chosen. Oh well.

Well done on your contest win, Sharon! And just as I was thinking she seemed ok (I'm British so not really up on US politics). But I get the impression she hasn't been given much of an opportunity to shine by Biden so I'll maybe reserve judgment:) I enjoyed the flow and rhyme of your verse. Great job! Debbie

Thanks for reading my poem, I really appreciate it.

Hi mystery writer, I think that you made some valid observations. Our country always seems to focus too much on, the first this and the first that, rather than the policies for which someone stands. Your point about abortion is a valid one, and the security of our borders. We have a vote, and we should put it to use.

I'm sorry to be out of sixes, mystery poet. An expectional poem of the many reasons why we should say NO! to Kamala Harris. Good grief, she basically had one job to do, securing the southern border, and never got it done. It's become worse, much worse!
Add, her continued focus on more abortions will help America get to 70 million abortions since Roe v. Wade by the end of 2024. 70 million!! That's the estimated death toll of WWII. Sick--!
Trump-Vance will win, and they will win big!
Sending you my best today as always and my very best wishes for the contest.

OMGosh, I commend you for your bravery and for speaking this out so beautifully.
This poem is wonderful and although I accidentally saw who you were, it makes no difference cause I would vote for this poem because it is the best, just like I will vote for the right one for president. Thanks for sharing this wonderful poem with us.

This is an interesting piece. I don't debate on politics and I honestly don't even know what I stand for yet in that department. However, this is very well written and brings up some interesting points. Good luck with it! Happy writing!

So the American voter loses a nominee who cannot form a complete sentence and replaces him with her because she is a woman, black, with a twist of Asian (how she do that?), who speaks a language unlearned in schools as if she speaks dyslexically.

I agree with you on this one! If Kamala became president we would be even worse off than we are already, and it's already bad now! Election Day will be very scary event! Thanks for sharing this!
