Your story is well written with adequate description, allowing the reader to easily envision each scene, as well as your brother scrolling. It is unfortunate what cell phones and tablets have done to destroy relationships. I've seen families at restaurants with each member's head down as they get lost in a phone.
I enjoyed your conversational style of storytelling, as though you're talking to old friends. Hopefully, your brother changes his ways before it's too late. I wish you the very best in the contest.

This writing really drew me in with its raw, heartfelt emotion and excellent storytelling. I could feel the frustration you felt with your sister in law are palpable.
