Jim,
I'm looking for your poem about Australia, and I stumbled upon this beautiful poem.
I can see why it garnered a first place!
Congratulations!
This poem reminds me of the true story of "the elephant man" who was horribly
Disfigured; all his life he wanted to be loved and accepted. He was mocked, scorned, and ostracized most of his life.
Awesome poem, Jim.
Best wishes,
Hugs to a friend,
A friend who'll be ok with things if Trump wins,
Cindy

Congrats, Jim! I'm so sorry I missed this contest. I aim to vote in all. What a strong and poignant naani. Love the flow of the poem and the message captured so skilfully. Take care Debbie

Aw, what a tender and endearing naani poem this is and brought a tear to my eye. The Hunchback of Notre Dame is one of my favorites by Victor Hugo, second only to Les Miserables. Wonderfully written and illustrated for a contest win, for sure. Sending you my best today as always and my best wishes for the contest.

Your poem beautifully captures a sense of vulnerability. It so heartfelt. The contrast between the imagery of a gargoyle and the tender emotions expressed here is so nice to read. Great job!
