So emotional a story but totally relatable. How does an expectant son's heart equalize itself when things aren't as they should be? My grown children experienced this with my ex so I am pained that they dealt with an angry, frustrated, non-attentive father. Through your poem, I see how, even more so, how their little hearts felt and still feel, to some extent. Sorry to ramble.
Bottom line...I would vote for this raw, real, relatable poem.
