This is a well-crafted poem. I have heard of birds protecting their nest. They are relentless protectors. Your 5-7-7 syllable count is in good order for this writing prompt. Good accentuating picture. Nice job.

Yes, I have been an unwitting victim of these attacks, when riding my bike in an unfamiliar area. I enjoyed your poem, and the accompanying photo. Best wishes for the contest.

Birds will let people know they are not welcome when they have little ones. They will swoop when they fly over a person's head. Blackbirds are terrible at squawking.

Thanks for your review. Magpies have been known to take out a person's eye if they get too close

I thought your "mindless humans" line was terrific. This is a funny poem especially with the picture. But it also does a wonderful job of painting a picture of the angry mother bird protecting her nest!

Thanks for your review. It is not funny when a magpie makes a kamikaze dive for your head. Those birds can take your eye out

Wonderfully written sedoka poem for the contest. I think modern society needs to pay closer attention to animal life, especially the mother's protective instincts. The womb and the children are our posterity.
Sending you my best today as always and best wishes in the sedoka poetry contest.

Thanks for your review. Those birds are not a fan of people during mating season.

I think your third line is only five syllables when it should be seven. Other than that, I really liked your poem. Thank you so much for sharing, and best wishes to you.

Thanks for your review. The last line is "It is this magpie's mission." I think you'll find that's seven syllables.

I was talking about "Humans shall not pass." I'm pretty sure it's five. Not trying to bug you. Sorry.

A big whoops and thank you from me. Now fixed.

An excellent example of a Sedoka poem for the the writing prompt. the descriptive verses, the photograph and the black and white background and text all add together to make this a delightful entry. Good luck.
