I've been told mentioning food is a crowd pleaser We had quite a bit of food on my chapter in Traffic and I got all kinds of wonderful compliments. I like this metaphor It's very cool: "The only thing clear was that Jason had fumbled the ball, leaving Gabby without a defense." the squabble is handled very well The reader is drawn in to see the whole thing happen. Well done

That's because we are always hungry and food is pleasing to the eye and stomach. LOL I am pleased that yo are still enjoying the story. I appreciate it very much.

Very good. You have a knack for ending your chapters in a manner that makes the reader want to continue, at least this reader. I'm enjoying the story immensely.

I've been told that the "cliff hangers" seem to be my specialty.... as long as I can bring them back to read again....I am thrilled.

I am reading chapters out of sequence. This is another excellent chapter. I read about Bobby in jail to sober up to know what happens next. I do not see any need for improvement. Have a blessed day.

That's the one unfortunate part of posting two chapters on the same day... The reader gets confused on which one comes next. Thanks for reading it even if it was out of order.

I like the way you wrote the Irish brogue. It adds some good interest to Paddy. Gabby's father is a mess! I hope he doesn't injure Dion any more than he's already hurt. Good chapter, with lots happening here. Have a blessed week. Carol

Oh, thank you, Carol. I was concerned because someone wrote that I used words with too many syllables and it slowed the reader down. I thought it added another layer to the characters. I appreciate your input.

There are times when you want to slow the reader, to make a point. I think you used the brogue effectively.

When you get to chap 10. see if it's easier. I made a few changes in the Irish. Thanks!

OK, I'll look for that. I'm still trying to catch up this week.

This story has taken off, and I feel a slight explosion beginning to erupt. Bobby has it all wrong and is going to mess up Dion and Gabby's lives, while Jason will never try to make things right. As a writer, you really know how to weave tangled webs. I'm on my way to the next chapter.

The best compliment I could get... weaving tangled webs. Yes, that's the heart of me. Keeping everyone guessing. Thank you so much for the review and for continuing to read. I appreciate your time, thoughts, and support.

I missed this one, Carol, you right so fast!! Now, what is going to happen now that Gabby's dad thinks Dion is the father of her child? That drunken woman egging him on, needs a good slapping!! This was an excellent chapter, my friend, and now I have another one to catch up with. I have one six left, so I'm saving it for the next chapter!! Love and hug, Sandra xx

That's funny....I have one left and I'm saving it for Flossie. LOL things are starting to heat up and Bobby's going to make a decision that will affect a lot of lives. It'll take me a few chapters, but by the weekend, I think something bad's going to happen. It feels so good to be writing again (except for the pain I keep getting in my left shoulder). Better there than elsewhere I guess. LOL

Love and hugs to you.... Hope you are feeling well.

I suspect the bog will better the girl's father, he's a drunken hypocritical sot, who makes my skin crawl. But of course he doesn't understand, and even if he did he's been a low class father who doesn't deserve the title, well done, great episode Carol, blessings Roy

Bobby reminds me of a few people who no longer grace our family. A loose cannon looking for a place to explode and blaming it on someone else...it couldn't be the alcohol???

Thanks so much for the review.

I guarantee it's the alcohol, that was the first thing God told me to stop doing, it's the catalyst for other evil. My life changed a adore my family, His gift to them.

Oh geez. The "knight" I'd hoped for just got clobbered. Leave it to Bobby...the man who thinks beer is the "breakfast of champions."

Dion stepped up in a big way and I'm thinking right about now he's wishing that man was a lucky leprechaun that could get him out of...er, not Dodge...maybe, Dublin?

BTW... "The Blonde" may have been typecasting, but she was perfect in her scene!

You're on a roll!

Thanks, Karen... I must admit writing and friends is definitely beginning to lift me out of places I didn't want to be. It's great to be able to sit at the computer and let my thoughts spill out onto the screen. I wasn't sure I could. Your comments and those of others are the soothing sauvee I needed. Thank you for always being there to support me. You don't know how much I appreciate it.

Makes me think of the time you weren't doing well and you were bookmarking that story. Even though you hadn't read it, I still felt close to you with your short comments. Like these. Just knowing someone is reaching out and touching me. Dumb, huh?

So many days and nights I sat at my computer crying, willing myself to write. I just couldn't do it. I'm so grateful to Matt for gently encouraging me everyday and especially to my friends who have welcomed me back. I faced death after death, and almost my own, but I got through it. But somehow my family weighed heavier on me and I just couldn't get past it. I don't know that I am yet, but I'm in a better place. Thanks to you and so many others.

In my darkest days, I never thought I'd write again. I'm glad that I saw a faint light and followed it. I feel blessed on FS though I wish I had more followers to read what I write, but then, beggars can not be choosy. I am thankful for what I am given. Have a great day!

You used to have quite a following. Maybe review a few of those people and let them know you are back and better than ever!
reply by the author on 06-Feb-2024
I do read and review as much as I can but these old eye balls and my back can't take the computer that much anymore. And many of my old followers are no longer on FS....times have changed. Maybe they want the "thrillers" and this one didn't start out that way...though there ii is about to take a horrible turn...It started out with 18-20 reviews and now its 8-12.... Probably because I can't afford to use my money anymore and it doesn't pay out the big bucks.

That's awful! Poor Dion is the example of what the saying, "no good deed goes unpunished." He was only helping Gabby and then was accused by that alcoholic father. I hope someone will be able to set him straight and make him get off his addiction. Another great chapter, Carol!

Yes, it is! Poor Dion was stepping up to the plate when his friend wouldn't and look what happened to him. Appreciate your thoughts, Helen. Thank you for the review.

Dion is perfectly innocent. I'm guessing Paddy was put into this story because he's going to be needed to protect Gabby. Bobby is a horrible person and needs to be stopped at all costs. I am enjoying this story.

I'm not positive on Paddy's role in Gabby's life, but I am sure the nice man will do what he can. Appreciate your thoughts.
