This is a skillful poem. It's almost free verse and yet there is some near-rhyme at the ends of some lines, so that it doesn't quite feel like free verse. I like the way you describe a narcissist's behavior without ever using the word "narcissist." I saw one typo: "Like most would be" At first I thought that was a transitive verb "be." Then I realized it's part of an adjective. It might be clearer if it were hyphenated "would-be."
