I've been checking outside to see if I can see any hummingbirds. We sometimes see them during the winter months. I haven't so I am wondering if Mother Nature told them we actually have a cold winter. Once again, your presentation was perfect.

What a simple way to show how hope for the future and for each creature is universal. This was a beautiful and vivid poem. Thank you for sharing. Gretchen

Oh how these beautiful words conjurer up the sweet prelude of the taste within the liquid amber nectar of love MariVal.
I actually smiled when I came to your conclusion of 'the hummingbird' with me writing hmmmmm, so much within each reply, I felt the movement and vibration:)
I also find Tanka's among my favorite construction within the world of poetry... and yes, it probably is because of its origin and the reason behind its allure.
This beautiful tanka has a luster of shine illuminating its presence and intent... so, so impressive as I love all possibilities, it's the probabilities that unnerve me.
You present a standard of high level at every outing and posting my dear Gypsy Queen... may the nectar be as sweet as it is fulfilling.
With our thoughts we create...
the beginning,
the middle and...
the ecstasy within the consumption.
Warmest regards,
James.

I was not happy with my tanka yesterday. I didn't think they were good but I got excellent feedback. I even disabled the book.
I'm happy you like it.... and the tanka poetic form. You know it's my favorite.
As always, your review is exceptional and so insightful.
Brand new Gypsy hugs (*<>*)

Hello Gypsy. I enjoyed reading this and especially the notes. I have written a tanka today and had forgotten about the transition of the content, the subject matter and presentation... I stuck with the 5-7-5-7-7. Your use of a different format is stunning as well as your art. I really like it.

Melissa,
Thank you very much, my friend.
Many people in fanstory think tanka has to be 5-7-5-7-7 but that's not true. I read a lot of tanka written by Japanese poets and the translations never go by the 5-7-5-7-7 mold. If you go to tanka society of America you will see.
That's why I add information in my author notes.
Thank you very much!
