Like in your chapter there are many times we can learn something from almost everyone, if we keep our eyes open and are willing to pay attention and listen. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Ric. Sometimes the youthful perspective cuts away the crap and niceties. It is what it is. Gretchen

I loved this chapter, Gretchen!
While I do believe in ghosts, I'm pretty sure the supernatural is not how you will go with this masterpiece of twists and turns.
There's something fishy about Starling, and bringing it out through the innocence of a seventeen-year-old was genius.
I hope Miranda soliciting Preston's involvement doesn't get the curious kid in hot water.
Best, JohnC

Preston was the side kick of Terry Joe McKinnon in my last book. He is the kind of kid who jumps without looking. Lol. He and Miranda are perfect for each other. Thank you for this awesome critique. Gretchen

I really like this story and can't wait to read more. You have me trying o figure out this Dougie issue. Is that old man lying??? HMMM)
She could have lured him out to No man's land, killed him, then let the wild animals get rid of the evidence. (Somethings off here, maybe 'to No Man's land')
"Im not saying the old guy is lying but people lie, Miranda." (I'm)

Another solid, interesting chapter that doesn't rush me, but, at the same time, manages to push the plot of the story along really well. You definitely have the knack, Gretchen. You're a super-fine storyteller!! xoxox

I'm glad I didn't miss any chapters, you do realise that once I firing on all cylinders I will be wanting them faster! lol. I wonder if the old man is lying, it will be interesting to see what Mitch finds out. I've read two great posts of yours today! Xxx Sandra

I was overwhelmed this season and I hope to get back on a regular schedule with posting. Get better. I'm missing your story. Gretchen. Plus, thank you for the sixes.

An excellent chapter with hints and ideas interspersed regarding this mystery disappearance of Dougie. What exactly has been going on in his seemingly dark background and is he in fact dead or alive? And should Miranda be influenced by Preston's wisdom and be more mistrustful of Alvin Starling? A fascinating hook in your last sentence. Thanks for sharing, Gretchen. Happy New Year! Debbie

I've beem missing this story. It was fun to read it again. I love your characters. I especially like Miranda. She is a caring person with a lot of emotions. She has strong opinions but she willing to listen and change her mind about things.

Nice chapter. And well written.
No man's land, - I would capitalize all three words, or none of them.
In your last paragraph, I think I would use a colon (or a dash) after 'tonight'. And a comma after 'years'.
Best wishes.

Yes, the black and white mind will sometimes outdo the wise, wily old complex wisdom of the oldie by outsourcing the obvious. Yep I think that Preston might be on to something, the karma theories aren't that bad, beautifully written, blessings and happy new year Gretchen, blessings Roy
Typo I(')m not saying

We can't believe everything someone tells us, but with instinct and a little bit of experience we can usually make a good assumption about someone. Having proof is the only way to know if someone is honest or not. I enjoyed the mix of personalities in this story as they bounce conversation off each other, an entertaining post Gretchen, love Dolly x
