This is wonderful on several levels. The interview flowed very smoothly but it had the strength to teach others about life, writing, and being a writer on Fanstory. I am so thankful I read this.

A wonderful interview with a very gifted and talented lady. I find Debbie's poetry to be of an excellent standard, without exception, and she evidently puts much time and effort into her initial research, so that she seems to actually KNOW the person - and hence her poems flow so well and from the heart. I too have encouraged her to publish them, and I do hope she will. As well, her reviews are always astute and insightful, and show thought about the piece being reviewed. Never a cut and paste review, or reply. I am glad you chose to honour her work with this interview. Thanks for sharing.

I agree with every single facet of this review, Wendy. It totally does seem like she "knows" her subjects --and that is EXACTLY why her poems don't feel like something out of a "World News and Reports" format. It's like she's introducing us to her FRIENDS.
And you're spot-on with the assessments of her reviews, too. She gives them THOUGHT. Each one is individual and written with specific. chosen words.
Thanks for encouraging her to publish, too. I honestly do think the world would LOVE this compilation!
I appreciate this in-depth review, Wendy. Thank you. xo

This is a phenomenal interview. You know how to ask just the right questions to extract the best and most information from your interviewee. I have been amazed at Debbie's ability to put the life and achievements of celebrities and artists into poetic rhyme. Thank you for asking about her process. And to you...Congratulations on the Number one ATB post for a second month.

Well, I'm grateful to now have a human photo to occupy Debbie D'Arcy's persona. Ms. Allen's interview is effective, but it doesn't really identify the thematic centers of Ms. D'Arcy's writing comprehensively. Everybody on FS loves family stuff, but a lot of it turns into corn syrup on waffles.
I don't refer to D'Arcy's writing in this comment, and I think her writing, when it concerns those close to her, can be frank and even abrasive.
I always think that one would ask a writer: what features of human consciousness and experience, and what questions, drive your poetry? Ms. D'Arcy speaks usually speaks gently of the world, but I would have liked to hear more about the counterpoints of threat and darkness that are present alongside of the sweet and lovely.

Looks like you need to do a follow-up interview with YOUR great style and probing questions! Should I look forward to that soon? I'll read it while indulging in some corn syrup and waffles!!

I had just watched a string of Ingmar Bergman movies. I don't quite know what got into me. Well, as they say, you can't unsay. Silence may be the best bargain in town. Be well. Frank

Funny this came across for me to review. I'd been meaning to pop over and take a look, but hadn't made it over yet. I guess FanStory is keeping me where I want to be. Fun interview.

Wow, such a moving and much-needed interview! I am new to FanStory, and have seen a lot of Debbie's work, and I am beyond impressed. As a newcomer, I can say for sure that I agree with her response to FanStory becoming time-consuming, as I cannot get enough of the pleasure that comes from receiving reviews, and writing for the whole world to hear.

Oh, for sure I know THAT syndrome! It becomes our lifeblood, as writers, I think...that immediate gratification.
Thanks, Austin, for this really nice review. Welcome to FS, and good luck here. xo

Gee, could you make your feelings about Debbie and her work a little clearer? You're so ambiguous.
This is a very interesting and informative interview, and I enjoyed learning about Debbie's history, and the inspirations for her work. She comes across, both through your comments and hers, as a lovely and intelligent person, and what she's accomplished on the site in such a short time is truly astronomical.
It's nice to know more about someone who's always proven so talented in her writing and kind in her reviews.

I guess Rachelle, you have found out that interviewing or writing about other Fanstorians is the best way to be popular. I like this interview and it's fun and fast paced. I have learnt a lot about Debbie who is also my friend.
Here is another tip I learnt from you: interviewing a popular writer will get more interviews because more people will be curious enough to read it.
Well done.

Hmm. I'm not exactly sure what to make of this review. Did you intend it to be snarky? I interviewed her because she's a good writer who's done amazing things on here, and I like and respect her a lot.

Thank you for interviewing Debbie D'arcy, Rachelle. She's awesome. What a sweetheart, friend to all, and a talented poetess. I'm waiting rather impatiently for her recognized writer award. She certainly deserves it. Fingers crossed for December 2023! I just know it will be very soon.
Thank you again for sharing, and wonderfully so. Sending you both my very best today as always and blessings for the new year.
