This is another excellent chapter. Did Ben take the bullet before or after he killed Soapy? I look forward to the next chapter. I hope Ben survives. I do not see any room for improvement. Have a blessed day.

Thank you.
Ben was shot when Soapy snapped off three quick shots. Ben fired back as Soapy took aim at him.

Thanks

I hate to see Ben hurt like this. I hope you're aren't going to let him die but then you have once already and he was resurrected. Maybe Beth's prayers came work toward saving him. This was quite a confrontation.

Well we are all hoping that Ben recovers from his injury and then he can tell the truth about who really did kill Soapy! I look forward to reading more from your book.

I'm no dim wit and the story cannot continue without Ben, so he will survive. But you are a stinker for letting him get more than a graze. A big old hairy stinker! I await the next Chapter with bated breath.

Hah!
50 more chapters!
Thank you for your fun review.

50 more? I don't know if I can the torture. :-)
-
hah!
It's way different from what I imagine you are guessing. I'm anxious to hear feedback.

Like you are going to keep me from giving you my opinion :-)

I see the funny side, the absurd, the whacky, the perverse, I can find the funny in most anything.:-)

Well, now, if this isn't the ultimate trust in God's plan, I don't know what is. Whether Ben dies or not, what happens will be what was meant to be. I've been wondering for a few chapters if Beth will become "One Woman's Calling". It's like she has been groomed for this since her marriage to Ben.
Just a thought . . .
Good action and good twist.

A man must have an inner power to stand still and not show any signs after being shot. So, I'm guessing, the good Lord will reach down and touch Ben, who has more to do. :-) Thanks for sharing.

Wow! Brought on drama in this one. I can see this unfolding in Ben's favor just as David and the giant. Yep, God will see him through this. Good one, Bro.

End of the road for Soapy. For Ben too? I think not. This was an exciting, fact-based chapter that showed the ignominious end to the life of a scoundrel. Seems fitting that he's killed in the effort to disrupt the formation of a group to oppose him.
I'm pretty sure Ben will pull through. It doesn't seem like his calling would end right here. I'm looking forward to a grand conclusion, skillfully conceived, when you finally get there. - Jim

Yes, it has been a long road.

Now I am wondering if this links back to Ben's promise that he would always love Beth, but did not and could not say that he will never leave her. Is this his end? Maybe. He's human, but has been used mightily by God and his legacy will be enormous. Well written!!
