Just beautifully done, Wayne, and so moving. God moves... I was wondering how he would react to the invitation and then he did that and left his audience and me dumbstruck. Love it.

Thank you. We don't fight against man, but against principalities. Same for men who fight against a man of God's calling.

Another good chapter. Guilt works wonders. You write these chapters so well, it is as if you have lived these moments yourself. You have a very good week.

Thank you. A hundred chapters given to me in about two weeks. I feel like God had something to say to someone, even if only one.

I always loved that hymn. Now that we moved, the piano is in the living room where I can play at it more and I have about five hymnbooks open. I miss singing those.
I like how the deacon was humbled and apparently, he did listen a lot more than he planned to listen!
Bless you, my friend. Bless you." (open quotes needed)

Thank you. You got the message perfectly (some didn't).
I also wanted to show that Ben could take a church, but he needed to follow God's calling rather than all the human instincts of settling down.

He has the humble heart of a good pastor. But a pastor and his wife have a very hard ministry. They need to be called. After I saw my dad quit, I knew, it was a husband-wife team that was called by God to serve together to make it work.

This chapter is more a sermon in itself in addition to a book chapter. I look forward to the next chapter, as always. I do not see any need for improvement. Have a blessed day.

Thank you.
The purpose was to make clear that Ben could be a pastor if he was led in that direction.

Sometimes it is hard not to be judgmental but we need to watch out for that sin. We must forgive if we would be forgiven. I love the message in these verses. Well done Wayne.

Thank you. I wanted to show Ben's humanity, his human-ness.

You did that. Well done. Nancy:)

I don't thing this needed an alert. It was beautifully written. Wouldn't it be a wonderful world if every on was in complete tune to what God's purpose was for their life and never did anything without asking for guidance. I love that song. I've not heard in a while.

Thank you.
I alerted because I've had a few say that they didn't like being preached to, or so much preaching in a story. Also, there are a couple of the Jewish faith who are following the story.
I figure the ones that don't like being preached to are under conviction. (Hope so.)
Again. Thank you for your review and your support.

As expected, Ben found a way to communicate his message of forgiveness to these people who pre-judged him. But he has his own agenda that doesn't include settling down at this point in his life, and he must refuse again to stay in a permanent post. If and when he and Beth begin to have children, I wonder if his travels will continue and if he will ever see a natural conclusion to his calling?

Thank you for your interesting review.
Ben's calling has not been very predictable so far.

Beth is becoming pretty wise in the ways of the Lord, isn't she? All that praying is paying off, as it opens up a line of communication that you barely know exists because it's so subtle.
I must remember this line to use from time to time: I would rather eat fish hooks by the spoonful than . . . Is that a Wayne original?
I didn't realize Ben was so opposed to having a church; I thought the travel and street preaching was a way to prepare him to be a good pastor. But I haven't been proven wrong quite yet:-)
Have a great week, Wayne.

Many times, I have preached the Beatitudes. The last thing is Be perfect as the father is perfect. (MATURED.) I love what Jesus said. He came not to condemn but to save. This should answer what Jesus would do. We all have sinned and come short of the glory.
The people should love the pastor through his mistakes. Love covers a multitude of sins. When I point a finger, three looks back at me. Good write, Bro.

Thank you. And thank you immensely for the six stars.
Comment from Carol Hillebrenner
Ben has a problem with this assignment to preach on a Sunday when the previous pastor absconded with part of the church's money. God wanted his to teach about forgiveness to some who were in no mood to forgive. Hearing his read and then recite Matthew 5 and part of 6, they had no choice but to forgive. Very well done and saw no proofing error.
