This is excellent work. I don't read it enough. Your presentation is very good. You use expressive words and descriptions of the couple, especially, are very moving. Your use of full and colorful imagery that will draw in readers. Your dialogues are genuine and authentic and support the story and characters with consistency. I enjoyed reviewing this. I will try to go back and fill in the story for myself.
Best wishes,
Alex

Good chapter, Wayne. I liked Ben's letter to Henry, it tells us a lot about what Ben plans to do.
It sounds like some settling in is just around the corner:-)

Thank you. But hold on to your seat.

That street preaching, based in his own lived experiences would resonate with the outwardly tough men, many of whom would doubtless have had similar experiences. You wrote it well and maintained the interest throughout. Let's hope the documentation comes through quickly.

It's great that Ben wrote his mayor friend! Hopefully, the document will arrive sooner than expected and perhaps a friend will deliver it now that they know where he is!
It's wonderful that both Ben and Beth can work together in spreading the Good News. I'm impressed with Beth's hardworking attitude even doing extra work!

Ben finds a new way to serve and also to bring in the needed funds rather quickly. He always waits on the Lord to show him whatever is next. I'm sure some of those men who come forward are moved by the emotion of the moment, but they will likely feel a bit quilty if they go to a bar.

God is certainly on Ben's side. He received good advice about getting proof of his exoneration, and Beth suggests they rent a room somewhere. One is available from an owner who invites them for dinner. God certainly does watch over them to see they have what they need. One sentence needs fixin' . . . Throughout the (crowd) of about . . .

This is another excellent chapter. You are moving the story along nicely.
I do not see any need for improvement. I look forward to the next chapter. Have a blessed day.

That was a great letter Ben wrote and a smart idea. Ben also had a great idea in letting Beth participate in his session at the dock. Nothing like a pretty lady with a beautiful voice to attract the attention of a bunch of sailors. I enjoyed this chapter, Wayne. - Jim

Thank you. Yes indeed. But Ben wasn't the one to point out his trick with the sailors. Hah!

For me, the religious theme was overwhelming. Each to their own. The letter at the beginning was okay but not engaging.
I did enjoy your plot development and conclusion to your latest instalment.

Thank you.
I guess I have to plead guilty of word count enhancement concerning the letter. My intention was to 'show' rather than 'tell'. It also, hopefully, added to Ben's feelings for Beth and helped remind readers who Halleck was in terms of future chapters.
Thank you for reviewing.
