A perfec ending for a perfect story. I loved it. I am happy can focus on raising his son and writing books, he deserves it. I understand why Iris wanted the divorce all done before he received her estate. Congratulations for finishing your book.

Very sweet. I wanted to read the chapters of their conversations. I will do that. The story was very straight forward and also described a situation which would be unusual but not unheard of. Thank you for this.

I'm a true sucker for happy endings, and the only way this one could have turned out better would have been for Iris to live on and them to have more happy times together. But life has a way of making us reach out and grab what we can before it's gone. Thanks for sharing.

Gretchen, this six is really from Sandra Stoner-Mitchell. There was a glitch, and she didn't get to give you a six, and she wanted to, especially since this was the end of your story.
As you know, I am one of those who have a hard time reading novels on FS. But getting them on Amazon is okay. I loved Miranda, and I'm glad you are doing another, will look for more from you.
Just finished one by Jay and Barabra and also ordered a Kindle copy of Betrayal by Sandra. Keep up the good work. Terry.

Thank you for the six. I will thank Sandra as well. FYI everytime you post one of your multi fanstory persons stories, I always see the painting by Norman Rockwell of the gossip. I don't know why. It makes it even funnier. Just thought you should know. Gretchen

I love that painting...UMM maybe I can do something with that. Terry.

Please do!!

Well, my talented friend, you have done it again. Another masterpiece of a book. What I find especially impressive is how different it is from Miranda, yet of an equally stellar caliber. When you can write well, you can write well. And you, without any question, my sweet friend, can write really, REALLY well.
True to the end, Jameson and Iris stayed in character, though both were so much richer (emotionally) from knowing each other. That Jameson is now also monetarily richer, as well (AND that he didn't know about it until after the divorce was finalized --okay, pure genius on your (and Iris's and Michael's) part-- is just the perfect sprinkles and whipped cream and cherry on top.)
I absolutely love this book, Gretchen. I want to know the second you put it up on Amazon.
Congratulations on a job so extremely well done.

Awe. Thank you, Rachelle. This is so nice. I had been very hesitant to post this on Fanstory because it was different. No real drama. Just two people who find each other. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Your reviews are always fabulous. You tend to pick up on points that others miss. I definitely appreciate that. Gretchen

I was simultaneously looking forward to this and dreading it as I logged into FS. You did NOT disappoint; that's for sure. xo

Glad you liked it. Gretchen

Comment from Sandra Stoner-Mitchell
I read this yesterday just after you posted, and my eyes were welling up. I needed to wait until today to give you my first six stars, and read it again. This story was incredible, Gretchen, Iris and Jameson were a part of my life, I so looked forward to reading what was happening to them every week. You did this whole story so tastefully, the breakup, the meeting, the discovering Iris was terminally ill, her getting Jameson motivated again, her death and finally, his inheritance. It was all so beautifully done, my friend. I feel as if I've lost two friends ... make that three, with Terry. Super well done! When I can get to your standard of writing, I'll know I'm there. Love and hugs, Sandra

Oh my sweet, sweet Sandra. You write so beautifully. Do not ever feel you need to change anything. I love your writing. You have a seamless writing, clean and beautiful. But your words made my day! So glad you liked it. Gretchen

Aw, thank you, Gretchen, that is so very nice of you. But I'm still working on it! 😊xx

I'm learning every day. You are, in my very humble opinion, one of the best writers I've ever read. I look forward to seeing your posts in my messages. I can't always say that about others. Lol. Gretchen

Your timing, as usual, is unbelievably bad. Something as important as the last chapter deserves to be posted at a time when people have enough sixes to do it service. Your ending was touching without being mawkish. (The shooting star? I don't know... it was kind of a Jimmy Stewart thing with the bell on the Christmas tree) but I refuse to let that detract from the overall effect of the chapter. Your experiment with the alternate viewpoint chapters? It works.

Thank you, Jay. I'm glad you liked the ending. Had to post while the inspiration was there. Glad you didn't find the ending too hokey. Lol. You stayed with this even though you had your doubts. I appreciate that. Gretchen
