I know. I figured with a cussing grandma who murders whole families, the only vote I was going to get was my own. Lol. I was going through the pictures I had on my computer and came across this one so I came up with something to go with it. I know these people eat that bully crap up so looks like I lucked out again. We're all winners today.

Well, your story is well written and somewhat suspenseful and dishes out some well-deserved revenge.
I'm just a bit offended, as I am a longtime resident of Jersey, no mob connections, with friends in Arkansas. I am a grandma, though!
BEST LUCK IN THE CONSTEST!

Thank you for the review and stars, Evilynne. Wasn't trying to offend anyone, just had to come up with a back story for the picture.

Interesting characters in the story and how they are choosing to deal with the perceived threat to their family. It demonstrates how people carry their coping mechanisms with them as they travel through life even when they think they've left them behind.

Move when they now own the damn town? NOO! What a waste THAT would be!! I love stories like this. Vicious vicarious revenge is my favorite genre! (Call me a neanderthal, too!) So, of course I hope you do great in the contest. Thank you for the highlight to my day!!

Lol. Thank you the great review, Rachelle. Again, I wasn't really sure where I was going with this until I got there. Haha. I guess she wanted to move. Lol. I'm glad you liked my little offering, R. Thank you again.

That happens a LOT with writers. Kind of fascinating process, isn't it.
Comment from Debbie D'Arcy
Very neat ending! And an imaginative and well expressed story leading up to it. There's humour and crime blended in together and I think this is a good contender for the contest. Good luck! Debbie

Oh I wish I knew your name so I could at least metaphorically give you a big hug for writing this. I loved it -and if 'language' isn't done properly it becomes gratuitous and unacceptable - but you did not waste a single expletive. (In the UK a very popular animated program for kids is called 'Miraculous Ladybug' and the superhero, Marinette, has an awesome grandma, just like your picture - I swear I wouldn't pick a fight with either of those ladies!)
This is just a great story, beautifully crafted, with seamless, believable dialogue. The characterization is spot on - the interplay between 'grandma' and the rest of the family is eerily accurate (!) and the resulting denouement just delicious.
I don't usually go for dark stories like this - but I would give this a six if I had it. Brilliant.

Wow, thank you for the outstanding review and big six offer, Paul. Yeah, some folks on here don't really get the dialog down too well. I want what I'm reading to sound real, not something to just get to the point across. I really appreciate the generous stars and kind comments, Paul. I'm glad you liked my little offering. That's hilarious there's a bad ass ladybug grandma in a kid's cartoon. Lol. Have yourself a great day and thank you again.

Very welcome. Looking forward to your next criminal enterprise!

I really like this story because the characters are so REAL, especially Grandma. You quickly give us backstory as to why all three women now live in Arkansas. I love the exchange between Grandma and Chris and how the info about the black eye is forced out. Grandma certainly believes in payback. Great closing sentence. Rod
