Hi Valda, yeah, It feels weird to be married fifty years while I'm still in my sixties. LOL. Doesn't that sound worse than saying I was 18 when I married?
I hope our freedom lasts, and for that I keep praying.

Very nice artwork and presentation that also represents Memorial Day. You wrote a very good poem with effective imagery and rhyme, as well as the repeating phrase about being free. We are blessed in this country to have that option. You show that very well in your opening verse and rest of the poem.
You do a good job using your family to show that your choices were made with free will and still are as you look at the generations after you. I agree with your comment about this not being "the place to blame." I also agree with you in the next verse about our soldiers during war and how we keep them in our thoughts because they are helping us remain free. A very good concluding verse. A very good entry; good luck in the contest, Debi.

Hi Pam, I just brought this back as a little pre-Memorial Day poem. I needed to post and with our party and everything today I didn't have the muse to write anything new. So I did this last year around Fourth of July.

Thank you so very much. You are very kind and I love when others see that Christian beliefs are exactly what made this a great nation once, but now it is in the wrong hands and needs help badly. I don't know how long God will let it go on, but I guess we just have to be ready.
